Kubb, also known as Viking Chess, originated from Sweden and is a fun outdoor throwing game. Story has it that the Vikings played using bones and skulls, but we are not sure if that’s actually true.
Kubb is played by two teams of 1 – 6 platers on a 5m – 8m pitch which can be grass, sand, gravel or even snow. It’s like a combination of pétanque, bowling and skittles. The aim of the game is to knock over your opponent’s wooden blocks (kubbs) before knocking over the King and taking the game.
