Daylight savings has officially landed – and we’re so here for it.
Longer evenings mean more time to do the things we love (and yep, that often involves a backyard, a few mates, and a game or two).
We asked the Backyard Games NZ crew how they’re soaking up the extra light – here’s what’s been lighting up our evenings lately:
Dinner On The Deck
There’s something about eating outside that just hits different. Maybe it’s the fresh air, maybe it’s the cold bevvy, maybe it’s placebo – but food tastes better when you’re soaking up the last of the sun.
Evening Walks
Post-dinner strolls with the dog, the kids, or just your own thoughts. Bliss. It's a simple way to wind down and enjoy the golden hour.
BBQ With Mates
Nothing says 'see ya winter' like firing up the BBQ and gathering your crew. Casual, easy, and always a good time.
Picnics
At the park or beach - low effort, high reward. Plus, bonus points for not having to do dishes.
Playing Games Outside
Naturally someone was going to say this. From Giant Kubb to Cornhole, we're all about turning a regular evening into something memorable.
In short...It’s not about doing more – it’s about doing what makes you feel good.
Whether you’re hosting a backyard hangout or just catching the last rays with a cuppa, we hope you get to soak it all up.
Here’s to longer evenings and better backyard vibes.
